2008 Mentoring Opportunities

Community Based One-to-One Mentoring:

• Men and women are needed to build a meaningful friendship with a youth (age 10-18) as you guide and
  encourage them through a trusting relationship, fun activities, and a caring community.
• One-to-one mentoring is proven to be one of the most effective ways to positively influence the life of a youth.                                                                                                                             

Site-Based/Group Mentoring in Community:

• Hang out with youth and other volunteers while having fun and sharing your interest.
• Weekly sites include:
  • Boys Basketball – Mondays from 4-6 in SE Aurora
  • Bike Building – Mondays from 5-7 in Denver
  • Girls Summer Community Program (June-Aug)
• Monthly recreational and high adventure activities

Site-Based/Group Mentoring in Facility:

• An opportunity to spend time with youth and other volunteers for 12-week sessions. Activities such as art, music, interactive games, and leadership development take place at the facilities where the youth are living.
• Weekly sites include:
  • Group Home - Commerce City (Girls) – Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm
  • Jefferson Hills - Lakewood RTC (Girls) – Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm (Fall 2008)

Boys Success Journey Program:

• In Facility Mondays 6:30pm-8:00pm
• Community Technology Group Thursdays 6:00pm-8:00pm
